Derrick Sterling, Julia Fisher, Megan Nanovic, Alyssa Jordan, and I (Sara Martz) began constructing a Ferris wheel out of K'Nex pieces on November 9th. Construction took place during enrichment and after school until November 25th. The entire project took approximately 35 hours. I personally contributed 7 and a half hours to the project.

The first step of building the Ferris wheel was doing inventory. All the K'Nex pieces were sorted by type and color. The pieces were massed, and so that the amount of each piece could be determined. From those numbers, a complete inventory was created.

Building the Ferris wheel was a fun group activity that required hard work and dedication. Some of the building process was tedious, but we worked as a team to finish each step quickly and efficiently. Not only did we broaden our knowledge of physics and the way things move, but we also got to play with K'Nex! The Ferris wheel project definitely reminded me of when I was a little kid. Overall, it was an enjoyable and educational journey.
